On August 9th, 2019, Mr. Michael Niedzinski, President of Polish American Congress – Illinois Division, participated in a breakfast meeting with recently elected Mayor of Chicago, Ms. Lori Lightfoot.

Breakfast meeting took place at the PNA Headquarters located at 6100 North Cicero in Chicago. President Frank Spula invited Ms. Lightfoot and hosted this event. About forty Polonia leaders participated in this important meeting.

Mayor Lightfoot unveiled her agenda aimed at fighting corruption, streamlining the bidding process for all public works and becoming tough on the contractors.

Her primary objective is to improve Chicago’s financial situation without any additional taxes on the already overloaded middle class in the Chicago area. She plans to establish an Advisory Council which will include members of Polonia. This will help to place qualified members of our community in the administrative positions in the city. Additionally they will provide consulting function to Mayor on major issues she is tackling.
