Celebrating 30 Years of the Illinois State Partnership Program with the Republic of Poland and the USO’s support for service members throughout Eastern Europe.
In partnership with the Union League Club of Chicago, the Chicago 502, the Illinois National Guard and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, the USO presents a luncheon featuring special guest presentations from The 40th Adjutant General and Commander of the Illinois National Guard, Major General Richard R. Neely; Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, Paweł Zyzak, Ph. D.; and the Regional President of USO Europe, Middle East and Africa, Grant McCormick in a live-feed broadcast, direct from USO Powidz Center in Poland.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: July 14, 2023 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Illinois State Partnership Program between the Illinois National Guard and the Republic of Poland. As one of our nation’s first and most successful State Partnership Programs, it represents a legacy of leadership that is fueled by shared values and a shared sense of purpose. The relationship between Poland and Illinois National Guard has flourished over the past three decades. Illinois is home to the largest population of people of Polish ethnicity outside of Poland itself, and with the current conflict in Ukraine and U.S. service members stationed in Poland to support our NATO allies, the connection between the Illinois National Guard and Poland is critical to supporting the efforts to defend democracy and preserve liberty in Poland and throughout the region. There are now over 100,000 American service members either deployed or permanently stationed in Europe. The USO is there—with four locations in Poland alone—supporting and keeping the men and women serving strong and connected to loved ones back at home. In 2022, the USO made 10.4 million total service connections, worldwide, to service members and their families.

Polskie Radio 1030 Chicago and TV Polvision are happy to announce the 4th Annual Golfing in Heels Charity Tournament, organized with the Polish American Golf Club. The event will take place on Sunday, July 30th at the beautiful Blackstone Golf Club in Marengo. As in the past, all proceeds go to charity – this year, the tournament will support the “Szlachetna Paczka USA” project, organized by the Spring Foundation to help Polish American families in need in the Chicagoland area. Since the start of the project in 2016, the Foundation was able to change lives of over 200 families in need.
„Golfing in Heels” is a very special tournament which pairs gentlemen who love the game of golf, with ladies who do not play but are interested in learning and are ready to throw the caution to the windsJ And so gentlemen swing and ladies putt and the pair with the best score wins! There are plenty of trophies to go around, with the winning pair receiving a very special one – a glass slipper (high heeled of course)! Everyone has a chance to win a Pebble Beach Golf Vacation for 2 (worth over $11,000!) for the hole in one. There are more prizes to go around and everyone has a great time!
Tickets are only $150 per person and include: 18 holes of golf with cart, cocktail hour, brown bag lunch, dinner and awards.
